I.e. if the three characters are labelled 1, 2 and 3 as they are presented in the Question, then if the Player answers 2, the correct is 1, if the answer is 1 the correct is 3, and if the answer is 3 the correct is 2.

Have an idea on #002, so let's start answering wrong.

#002:: The Butcher.

Also, if I think up a nice twisted pattern, can I start my own round? I might want to check with you if a pattern like the one I'm thinking is even allowed though. That is, unless you want to try and crack it yourself, acidbomb.

Okay, so for 004 so far, we have
If a {tree, shrub} sneezes in the {forest, woods, mountains}, does the {giant, troll} hear it.
The second set could be larger than that, but the other two are set.

Round 1 question: (tree, forest, giant), answer: yes, reveal: yes
Round 2 question: (shrub, woods, troll), answer: no, reveal: yes
Round 3 question: (shrub, mountains, giant)

I could of course be missing some information here, but this is as far as I care to list it.

#004 - No.

Also, I've thought of a neat pattern myself, can I use it or do I need to wait until I solve one?

Ooh... the thought is tantalizing ~ I would prefer you brush it by Embers first, having played this game with him a lot, he'll now the [if somewhat fuzzy] limits are ~ but he's... a bit on the restricted side right now; However, as long as you can phrase your Pattern in a single If:Then;Else statement (Like I've done in the Balloon solving spoiler on the front page) It should be fine Wink

~ This early in the thread/legacy that I see this game becoming, I'd like to keep them nice and easy ~
~~{ }~~
~ Don't even get me started on the double-negation Patterns... XD ~

Correct : The giant fails to hear the sneeze
#004 :: If a shrub sneezes in a grove, will the troll hear it?

/probably adding puzzle #006 soon ~ came up with it earlier.
Check the front page. Wink

ADDENDUM :: Actually, hold all your patterns to yourselves for a while, write them down somewhere ~ Before I begin letting people start patterns, I'd like a few more puzzles to go by, not to mention I've still yet to post the official 'rules' on the matter...

Oh, come on, three puzzles at once? Don't you think that's a bit much?

BTW, the way you structure your post with all the center and the "~" stuff is really distracting and makes it hard to read, in my opinion. That might be just me, though.

Round 1 question: (tree, forest, giant), answer: yes, reveal: yes
Round 2 question: (shrub, woods, troll), answer: no, reveal: yes
Round 3 question: (shrub, mountains, giant), answer: no, reveal: no
Round 4 question: (shrub, grove, troll)

#004 - No.

Also, I don't need to write down my pattern, it is really very simple. Of course, that doesn't mean it's easy.

#004 - Yes.

Still not too confident that I understand the pattern, but it seems like the location doesn't matter. If all other variables are the same (plant, creature, answer), the reveal is the same.

Edit: I can't help but think that I'm thinking way too complicated here.

Edit2: You know what, I'll just go out on a limb and say that the reveal is "no" if and only if the question involves the mountains.

What do you mean I contradicted myself? There was absolutely no contradiction in my post and I didn't edit the answer nor remove or add any answer.
Also, how about that guess at the pattern? Most likely incorrect, but I just wanted to get that out of the way.

Round 1 question: (tree, forest, giant), answer: yes, reveal: yes
Round 2 question: (shrub, woods, troll), answer: no, reveal: yes
Round 3 question: (shrub, mountains, giant), answer: no, reveal: no

Round 5 question: (tree, woods, giant), answer: yes, reveal: yes
Round 6 question: (shrub, woods, giant)

#004 - No.

Re: Pattern game, anyone? ;)

Hm, interesting. Let's keep building a dataset on 004.

#004::Butcher

And my pattern is actually pretty simple, it's just weird. I might be overstating its difficulty because I'm overestimating the confusion levels of my brain.

Also, the setup sentence might be a little overkill-long.
The whole thing goes like this:

"Derpy Hooves, Twilight Sparkle and Pinkie Pie are at the post office. Derpy rummages about, Twilight looks nervously at the clock, Pinkie is smiling. Who is the package for?"

Note, I'm not starting a round yet, I'm just putting it up so that ab113 (ye gods your name is hard to contract neatly) can tell me if there's anything immediately wrong with it.
(and these are the MLP forums, of course it's pony-themed )

Still can't make out a pattern for 004. This is getting increasingly weird.
So far the reveal seems to be "no" only if the giant is involved.

Round 1 question: (tree, forest, giant), answer: yes, reveal: yes
Round 2 question: (shrub, woods, troll), answer: no, reveal: yes
Round 3 question: (shrub, mountains, giant), answer: no, reveal: no
Round 4 question: (shrub, grove, troll), answer: no, reveal: yes
Round 5 question: (tree, woods, giant), answer: yes, reveal: yes
Round 6 question: (shrub, woods, giant), answer: no, reveal: no
Round 7 question: (tree, mountains, giant)

#004 - No.
