Experience is something you can set. It seems as though Dsarker was trying to push a forum RP passive-aggressively.

Friendship lessons is basically your karma. People can upvote posts now, and the 'friendship lessons' is your total karma.

'Pony pals' is the sum of your posts, karma, and some other stuff I forget.

Well, right under Dsarker's avatar, where it normally says "Second-class Citizen Pegasus" or whatever, it says "BANNED".

Oh. It's probably him doing more shenanigans, or Flying Dice banned him for having the fuckhueg avatar. Probably the former, since Flying Dice doesn't really do anything.

TNG update.
Through Season 5, Episode 25.

Number of dead crewman: 47
Worf gets his ass kicked: 13
Enterprise gets destroyed (but not really): 5
Tea, Earl Greyer, Hot: 7

Season 5 definitely has a large number of great episodes. Starts strong, finishes strong, and has the great "Cause and Effect" episode in addition to "I, Borg" and the unique "Darmok".

It does have its misses, such as the one where an imaginary friend becomes real and tries to kill everyone.

I haven't seen the show, so now I'm picturing Barney ripping through the ship killing everyone.

Speaking of everyone dying, how do you guys feel about human enhancement? Gene modding, cybernetics, etc., would you take it if you could? How far would you guys want to take it? Would you go just a little here and there, or completely dehumanize yourselves?

Gene modding, biological immortality and get rid of a few things that make me likely to die, maybe rewire my brain a bit, too, so I'm less fucked in the head.

I can't say I'm too big on cybernetics, but I might get a few smaller objects just to make my life a little easier, like a bioelectric jack to keep my phone charged and built-in earphones to listen to music without buds or headphones, plus anything that I might depend on to survive like a pacemaker (although I'd probably prefer a heart transplant if one was available.)

Ultimately, though, I'd probably still be sitting at my desktop computer playing video games and talking to people with Skype. Call me old-fashioned.

Since I've never believed in the whole 'cybernetics eat the soul' trope common to sci-fi it'd probably be a matter of convenience, maintenance and price for me. Some kind of Deus Ex: Human Revolution HUD would be high on my wishlist.

I'd probably gene mod until I looked more like a chryssalid than a human. Cybernetics... maybe. Nonessential things like extra senses would be definite, but probably not essential things like heart mods. If I need a new part for my ticker, I'm not really going to make it to the hospital. I could live without thermal vision. If I could upload my mind into a computer, however... *clicks pen* where do I sign up?

This is all presuming I can afford this, or it being free. Gene modding wouldn't really need much maintenance and probably'd be relatively cheap, so I'd probably just stick with that if I had to pick one or the other.

I'd have glasses/sunglasses with a HUD, personally. A family history of astigmatism means that I probably couldn't get ocular implants even if I wanted them, and I don't think I'd ever get used to it anyway. I have enough trouble with my glasses as-is.

I don't think I'd gene mod myself to anything other than human, or at least human-like. I like human skin and the human form very, very much.

It seems you are the only other person I know with(?) astigmatism. Hooray! But...no ocular implants? I suppose special glasses could work good enough for that.

I'm pretty much *already* more eldrich abomination than human, and plan on getting further away as fast as possible as soon as possible forever, in every direction. Think of the most inhumane, eldrich, impossible, horrifying hing you can iagine; I already have specific plans to do a thousand things a hundred times worse, and will be doing a million things a billion times worse that I haven't figured out yet.

This includes, but is not limited to:
* branching of hundreds of copies daily while regarding none of then as any more "original" than any other, and deleting myself for the most trivial of reasons without a second thought. Basically reverse savescuming at thinking.
* banishing myself to hell simulations to be unimaginably tortured for days or millennia, for a variety of reasons, including just wondering what it'd be like. After all, the *fraction* of my existence spent like that would be less than a single millisecond is to the lifetime of a human.
* replacing prety mcuh every part of my mind with farsuperior versions who share prety much nothing in comon with the originals, plus adding a billion times more modules and modalities completely drowning out the remnant even if the entire original brain was left.

Really, I have already:
* preformed various forms of mind control on myself and others
* ensured the existence of backup compiles of my mind, and confirmed them to be sufficiently actuate to be me.
* done the equivalent of staring into cuthulus eyes while he tries to blackmail me, and going, "man, your face looks funnly, nifty!", and then going home with a smile on my face and only slightly less sane. And no, I'm not talking about drugs.

Human enhancement? I'd put my brain in an osmiridium jar and have someone hook the jar up to a robotic body.

"Incurable" that, science. Razz

Or you could skip the brain jar entirely, and upload your brain. Who needs flesh when you have cold, hard metal?

TNG update.
Through Season 6, Episode 21.

Number of dead crewman: 48
Worf gets his ass kicked: 15
Enterprise gets destroyed (but not really): 5
Tea, Earl Greyer, Hot: 9

Two Q episodes in Season 6, including Tapestry. Got to see Scotty, and an episode where Doctor Bashir from DS9 is involved for the first part; felt a bit odd being on DS9 in TNG. Also, Romulans continue to be in the best episodes, and Cardassians are bastards. Very, very good season so far. Of course, I've seen many of these episodes before and remember enjoying them. And never forget...

TNG update; series complete
Through Season 7, Episode 26.

Number of dead crewmen: 53
Worf gets his ass kicked: 17
Enterprise gets destroyed (but not really): 8
Tea, Earl Greyer, Hot: 10

I did skip a few of the really bad Season 7 episodes that I remember. And "All Good Things..." is probably the best way to end a series I've ever seen. Onto DS9 I guess; although I do prefer the lighter and fluffier TNG to the "Edgy 90s Sci-fi" that DS9 is.
